About The Position

As a full-time Operations Manager for Aalberts IPSA, you will play a key role on site during night shift operations via accountability for maintaining a safe, productive and disciplined work environment while supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the facility. The Night Shift Operations Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, safety, quality, productivity, maintenance coordination, and operational performance of all night shift foundry activities. This position provides direct oversight of molding operations and maintenance personnel while ensuring production schedules, quality standards, equipment reliability, and workforce development objectives are achieved.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, or related field preferred. Equivalent foundry leadership experience may be considered in lieu of degree
  • 7+ years of manufacturing experience, preferably in a foundry environment.
  • 5+ years of progressive supervisory or management experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership in production and maintenance operations.
  • Experience managing large hourly workforces in a heavy industrial environment.
  • Knowledge of molding processes, production scheduling, equipment reliability, and workforce management.

Responsibilities

  • Promote and enforce all company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead safety observations, incident investigations, and corrective action implementation.
  • Ensure proper use of PPE and adherence to safe work practices.
  • Drive a culture of safety accountability throughout the shift.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and workplace inspections.
  • Coordinate emergency response activities during night shift operations.
  • Direct and coordinate all molding department activities during assigned shift.
  • Ensure production schedules are executed safely, efficiently, and on time.
  • Monitor daily production performance and adjust resources to maximize throughput.
  • Remove operational barriers impacting safety, quality, delivery, or productivity.
  • Coordinate manpower allocation to support production priorities.
  • Manage shift startup, shift turnover, and end-of-shift communications.
  • Ensure standard operating procedures are followed consistently.
  • Provide leadership and direction to maintenance personnel during night shift operations.
  • Prioritize maintenance activities to support production requirements.
  • Coordinate emergency equipment repairs and downtime recovery efforts.
  • Ensure preventative maintenance activities are completed as scheduled.
  • Partner with day shift maintenance leadership to ensure continuity of repair and reliability initiatives.
  • Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities to improve uptime.
  • Ensure compliance with all quality standards, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Respond to quality concerns and initiate containment actions when necessary.
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
  • Promote quality-at-the-source practices throughout production and maintenance teams.
  • Work closely with Quality and Engineering personnel to resolve process issues.
  • Directly supervise frontline supervisors, leads, operators, and maintenance personnel as assigned.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct coaching, performance feedback, and employee development activities.
  • Support hiring, onboarding, training, and retention efforts.
  • Address employee relations concerns in partnership with Human Resources.
  • Promote employee engagement and positive morale across the shift.
  • Support Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Utilize operational metrics to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Drive improvements in productivity, utilization, efficiency, quality, and equipment reliability.
  • Participate in problem-solving and corrective action activities.
  • Lead shift-level improvement projects and kaizen events as assigned.
  • Act as the senior management representative on site during the night shift.
  • Communicate production, maintenance, safety, and quality issues to Plant Management.
  • Ensure effective turnover between shifts.
  • Provide accurate reporting of operational performance and key events.
  • Coordinate activities with Maintenance, Quality, Engineering, Logistics, and Human Resources functions.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned by the manager.
