About The Position

Eaton’s ES GEIS CHD division is seeking a Foundry Core Maker. This role involves planning and performing all required duties to set up core making machines and produce a variety of shell, isocure, and pepset cores for use in the foundries. Responsibilities include performing minor repairs, adjustments, lubrications, and settings of machines to ensure proper operation and quality parts. The position also requires adding vents to urethane core boxes, replacing existing vents, and drilling straight holes on flat surfaces as needed. Other duties involve filling sand hoppers for machine production, core box assembly, using rods or nails for core reinforcement, and removing cores from boxes. The Core Maker will clean and position cores in pans, move them to designated areas, and place them on pallets. Operating a fork truck is also a requirement. The role demands detecting and reporting defective materials and unusual conditions, maintaining a clean and orderly work area, maintaining visual measurements, and following prescribed safety regulations. The hourly rate for this position is $22.52, with core hours from 6am-2:30pm.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate.
  • Minimum one (1) years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum six (6) months of fork truck experience.
  • Residing within the immediate geographic area (50 miles) of Syracuse, NY.
  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and perform all required duties to setup core making machines and produce a variety of shell, isocure, and pepset cores for use in the foundries.
  • Perform minor repair, adjustments, lubrications, and settings of machines to insure proper operation of the machines as well as, produce a quality part.
  • Add vents to urethane core boxes and replace existing vents; drill only straight holes on flat surfaces as needed to perform these tasks.
  • Perform necessary duties to fill sand hoppers as directed or required for machine production and perform core box assembly, prescribed use of rods, or nails for core reinforcement, removal of cores from box.
  • Clean core and position cores in pan and move cores to designated areas and place on pallets.
  • Operate fork truck as required in performance of job duties.
  • Perform a variety of similar or associated duties as required or directed.
  • Detect and report all defective materials and unusual conditions to proper supervision.
  • Maintain work area in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Maintain visual measurements.
  • Follow prescribed or standard safety regulations
