About The Position

The Founding Talent Lead will build the company’s recruiting function from the ground up and own recruiting company-wide. The role reports directly to the chief executive and partners with them on hiring priorities and candidate decisions. It encompasses proactive candidate sourcing, candidate evaluation and closing, as well as the recruiting infrastructure and systems needed to support growth. The company is a hyper-growth AI startup in insurance and claims, and hiring is a primary constraint on its growth. The role is based in San Francisco and requires working onsite five days per week. Visa sponsorship is available.

Requirements

Proven ability to close talented people against real competition, through recruiting, sales, or another high-stakes persuasion role.
Strong judgment in identifying top-tier talent quickly.
Experience with proactive sourcing and creative candidate hunting beyond inbound applications.
Systems thinking and ability to build scalable infrastructure and processes.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Based in or willing to relocate to San Francisco.
Willing to work in person five days per week.

Responsibilities

Build the recruiting function from the ground up, including processes, tooling, and standards.
Partner directly with the chief executive on hiring priorities and candidate decisions.
Proactively and creatively source candidates rather than relying on inbound applications.
Close high-quality candidates, including candidates with competing offers.
Build scalable recruiting systems, including ATS setup, pipelines, and automations.
Maintain hiring quality as recruiting volume grows.
