About The Position

They're seeking a Founding Recruiter to join their 10-person Series A team in San Francisco as they accelerate post-funding growth. You'll be the first in-house talent architect, focusing on full-cycle recruiting for technical roles (engineering, product, design) while flexing into GTM to support their mission of transforming legacy insurance processes with AI agents that slash manual workflows from hours to minutes. This hands-on role combines strategic vision with tactical execution: Partnering with founders and execs to build scalable systems, manage 8-12 open reqs at once, and deliver 10-15 hires annually. It's an urgent hire to ramp up for their January/February scaling phase—think owning the pipeline for an AI platform already serving 25% of the top 50 brokers and hitting seven-figure ARR in just over a year.

Requirements

  • 5-10+ years of full-cycle recruiting in high-growth startups (Series A-E), ideally in AI, SaaS, or deep tech—proven track record sourcing/closing 10-15 hires/year in tough markets.
  • Experience building recruiting functions 0→1 or stepping into Head of Talent; deep knowledge of startup talent dynamics and what draws candidates to early-stage bets.
  • Technical recruiting expertise (must-have), with flexibility for GTM; familiarity with tools like Ashby, Greenhouse, Gem, or HireEZ.
  • Strategic yet scrappy: Comfortable in ambiguity, hands-on execution, and continuous improvement—tracking metrics, spotting bottlenecks, and biasing toward action.
  • Strong storyteller: Excel at selling vision, team quality, and growth trajectory over established brands.
  • Thrive in fast-paced environments with inclusive practices; experience managing agencies and external partners.
  • Based in San Francisco (5 days on-site/hybrid).
  • No visa sponsorship.

  • You've scaled through early-to-later stages in insurance tech, fintech, or AI (e.g., backgrounds from Harvey, Ramp, or similar).
  • Led process overhauls or contributed to org design/headcount planning.

Responsibilities

  • Lead full-cycle recruiting for technical and GTM roles: Sourcing, outreach, screening, interviews, offers, and closing top performers.
  • Craft and execute a high-volume strategy to 4x the team, including direct sourcing via LinkedIn, investor networks, and platforms like Paraform.
  • Build recruiting infrastructure from scratch: Job descriptions, interview loops, candidate experiences, ATS setup (e.g., Ashby/Greenhouse), and agency management.
  • Drive diverse, inclusive pipelines with a focus on technical talent—identifying profiles, personalizing outreach, and optimizing for time-to-fill and conversion rates.
  • Provide market insights: Benchmark comp, analyze competitive landscapes, and position us against Big Tech by highlighting mission impact, momentum, and equity upside.
  • Track KPIs (source of hire, offer acceptance, pipeline health) and iterate processes for efficiency.
  • Champion employer branding through compelling storytelling about their AI automation revolutionizing insurance brokerages.
  • Eventually scale to leading a recruiting team, defining playbooks and culture.
