About The Position
Hera is creating a new profession in healthcare called the Hero, a dedicated senior care expert for families. Heroes educate, coordinate, and advocate for vulnerable populations in the healthcare system, and the service is covered by insurance to serve every family in America. The company is building the most trusted interface of healthcare, focusing on designing for emotionally charged moments and ensuring the product unlocks and enforces trust at every touchpoint. Hera faces a supply challenge due to a shortage of experts, aiming to unbundle expertise from the human and broaden the definition of a Hero to anyone who can foster human connection. The product challenge involves creating software that is invisible and equips Heroes to deliver expert-level care. The platform aims to capture interactions, solved problems, and insights from care managers to create compounding intelligence, similar to Waymo's approach to autonomy. The engineering challenge is to build a platform deeply entwined with the care management workflow, capturing behavior perfectly and building a knowledge system that surfaces the right insights at the right moment. The founding team has closed a $7M seed round led by Accel and has 10x'd revenue organically. They are looking for ambitious and relentless engineers to join their mission to impact real lives, particularly those most in need and underserved by technology. Requirements
- Strong frontend engineering fundamentals.
- Clear appreciation for product craft, quality, and user experience.
- Experience building products that feel intentional and polished.
- Deep care about how software looks and feels.
- Excited by direct engagement with users and building informed by real-world behavior and needs.
- Self-directed, highly autonomous, and energized by the chance to carve out an area and raise the bar.
- TypeScript, React, Next.js, AWS services, and comfort with modern AI-native workflows.
Responsibilities
- Own and build core frontend product experiences.
- Design and implement key workflows across Hera’s product.
- Help shape how the platform feels and functions day to day.
- Translate craft and taste into product quality.
- Bring a strong point of view on interaction design, UI polish, and overall product quality, and hold a high standard for what ships.
- Work closely with users to stay grounded in their lived reality and use insights to build with context.
- Help set frontend engineering standards.
- Contribute to code quality, system cleanliness, and a thoughtful engineering culture as an early member of the team.
- Operate with high autonomy, identifying opportunities, moving quickly, and taking ownership without heavy direction.
