Founding Account Executive, Vendor Network

Settle•, (Multiple States)
•$140,000 - $185,000•Hybrid

About The Position

This role is primarily remote but requires some in-person attendance at our Manhattan office. Candidates must live within commuting distance of Manhattan. About the Role: Settle is where consumer brands plan, purchase, pay for, and finance inventory. Every dollar we've moved went to somebody - a co-packer, an ingredient supplier, a packaging converter, a freight forwarder - who then sat on Net 30, Net 60, sometimes Net 90, waiting to be made whole. Those vendors are in our network today. They receive our payments. They see the POs. And they have a real, expensive, recurring problem: their cash conversion cycle is set by somebody else's payment terms. We have never made them an offer. What doesn't exist yet is the go-to-market. That's this job. What you sell: Early payment on invoices vendors are already owed, priced as a discount rate. Who you sell to: Owners, controllers, and CFOs at suppliers, manufacturers, vendors, etc. Your unfair advantage: We can already see who invoices whom, for how much, on what terms, and how late it gets paid. The numbers: $4B+ funded to consumer brands since 2020 - tens of thousands of vendors in the network, never sold to - 30–90 days of cash we can give a vendor back - one founding seat.

Requirements

  • You've carried a quota and hit it. 7+ years of closing experience in a role where the number was real and the pipeline was partly yours to create.
  • You've built a 0-to-1 outbound motion. Not "I did well in an established territory" - you've built lists, sequences, and a CRM from nothing, and can walk us through exactly what you did.
  • You understand financial services. You can explain a discount rate versus an APR versus a factor rate without flinching, hold a credible conversation about credit risk and cost of capital, and sell inside the constraints compliance gives you.
  • You're comfortable with data. You can pull, segment, and prioritize a list yourself rather than waiting for someone to build it for you.
  • You're in the New York tri-state area, and can be in the room with the team as needed.
  • You can reason across a multifaceted business. Credit risk, vendor motions, brand relationships, compliance constraints, unit economics - you hold more than one lens at once instead of defaulting to a single frame.

Nice To Haves

  • Trade and supply chain experience. You've sold to or worked with inventory-based businesses: co-packers, contract manufacturers, importers, distributors, packaging, freight.
  • Receivables finance background. Factoring, supply chain finance, dynamic discounting, trade credit, PO finance, or merchant cash advance. You've had the "take less now, get it sooner" conversation before.
  • Two-sided network experience, especially activating a supply side that existed as a by-product of the demand side.
  • You've sold to owner-operators as well as finance teams, and you know those are two different pitches.

Responsibilities

  • Carry the first vendor-side quota. You own originated volume and revenue from vendors. The target will be ambitious, and it will be yours.
  • Build the outbound motion from zero. No playbook, no SDRs, no inherited sequences. You write the first pitch, make the first hundred calls, and find out what actually converts a supplier who has never heard of us.
  • Turn network data into pipeline. Segment the vendor base by invoice volume, term length, payment latency, and category. Work out which cohorts have the sharpest cash pain, and go there first.
  • Stand up the systems. CRM structure, enrichment and list-building, sequencing, call and demo frameworks, routing, pipeline hygiene, dashboards, attribution. If it isn't instrumented, you build it.
  • Kill the objection set. You're asking a business to take less than face value, sooner, from their customer's payment platform. Pricing, trust, accounting treatment, and "why are you calling me" all need crisp answers. You'll write them. There's no existing playbook to lean on, so this takes real creativity, not just persistence.
  • Feed product and credit. Feed product and credit. You'll sit closer to the vendor than anyone here. Where pricing breaks, where onboarding leaks, where self-serve should take over from a human - that signal comes back through you and not just as a bug report. You'll tell us what you'd build instead and why.
  • Write the playbook the team will run. This is a founding seat. Success means we hire reps behind you and you've left them something to execute.
