Founder & CEO | Robotics (HealthCare)

Founders FactoryNew York, NY
$128,000 - $160,000Onsite

About The Position

Founders Factory is building a new portfolio of ventures in partnership with a leading global industrial technology partner. We are seeking an exceptional entrepreneur to join as Founder & CEO to build NightWatch, a mobile UWB-radar robot designed to automate night shifts in US senior living facilities. This venture aims to improve resident safety and reduce operational costs for continuing-care retirement communities (CCRCs) by providing a robot-as-a-service solution. The robot patrols corridors at night, senses movement, and alerts staff only when a physical check is warranted, offering a two-to-three-month payback period with no capital expenditure or installation required in resident rooms. The unfair advantage comes from our partner's existing production robotics stack, sensing IP, manufacturing scale, and edge compute capabilities. This is an opportunity to create a new category in eldercare automation.

Requirements

  • Founder or senior operator experience building a hardware/robotics or hardware-as-a-service product from zero to one, ideally in the US market.
  • Deep familiarity with at least one buyer segment: US senior living/CCRC operators, eldercare, or enterprise facilities operations.
  • Enterprise commercial instinct: ability to navigate multi-site operator sales cycles and transition pilots to fleet rollouts.
  • Strong product and technical instincts: ability to reason about robotics, sensing, edge compute, and unit economics.
  • Comfort operating in ambiguity, shaping the product, defining the buyer, and making decisions with incomplete data.
  • Credibility with conservative care operators and forward-looking venture investors.
  • Willingness to be on the ground in the US.
  • Motivation by category creation and building the operational backbone for aging in America.

Nice To Haves

  • Not a traditional senior-living executive or a pure robotics researcher; ideal candidate sits at the intersection.

Responsibilities

  • Define the wedge and choose the operator profile and 3-state cluster for initial pilots.
  • Work with partner's robotics teams to develop the night-patrol robot and remote-monitoring layer from concept to fleet operation.
  • Land 2-3 CCRC/senior-living operators for pilots and prove FTE substitution by holding service levels with one less night headcount.
  • Frame the purchase as an ROI decision for CFOs/COOs, focusing on savings and redeployment rather than redundancy.
  • Drive the robots-to-operator ratio towards software-like margins, collaborating with the partner on reducing unit costs.
  • Hire the initial team, raise capital, and establish the venture as the automation layer for senior living.

Benefits

  • $128k ring-fenced build budget for founder stipends and specialist resources.
  • Founder stipends of $6,675 per founder per month.
  • Embedded studio team throughout the build phase (venture builder, studio lead, growth marketer).
  • On-demand access to specialist support (data science, applied AI, fundraising, legal, finance, PR, commercial partnerships).
  • Dedicated network access from day one.
  • At incorporation, founding team receives 70% equity, Studio 15%, and 15% reserved for employee option pool.
  • $320k cash investment at IC approval for the new venture.
  • Accelerator support including a dedicated squad for growth, product, and fundraising.
  • Continued access to shared services.
