About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Foundations Excavator Operator who brings precision, safety awareness, and accountability to every project site. This role is critical to the successful execution of foundation excavation, slab preparation, trenching, grading, and backfilling activities. You will operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently while meeting production timelines and maintaining strict safety and quality standards. An ideal candidate is confident reading grade stakes and plans, adapts to changing site conditions, and takes ownership of both equipment performance and job site results.

Requirements

Minimum 2 years of experience operating an excavator
Experience with skid steers and packers
Experience performing daily maintenance and equipment checks
Ability to read grades and site plans
Valid driver’s license
Strong communication and teamwork skills

Nice To Haves

Experience with foundations and slab preparation (asset)

Responsibilities

Operating excavators to complete foundation excavation, trenching, grading, and backfilling.
Working with grade stakes, elevations, and site drawings.
Supporting slab preparation and foundation work.
Completing excavation and backfill within timeframes provided by your foreman.
Performing daily equipment servicing (fueling, greasing, inspections).
Completing required daily checklists in company systems.
Participating in toolbox talks and safety meetings.
Following all safety procedures and PPE requirements.
Working collaboratively with subcontractors and site teams.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
