About The Position

The Foster Program Representative at the Helen Woodward Animal Center oversees and manages animals currently in the foster program. This role acts as a liaison between foster families, the adoptions department, and other internal departments, contributing positively to the center's mission of helping animals and people. Responsibilities include coordinating with potential foster families via email, Facebook, and phone to secure high-quality foster homes for incoming animals. The representative is also responsible for ensuring foster volunteers are well-trained through on-site training, maintaining training materials, and effectively communicating Center policies and protocols. Maintaining compliance and professionalism is crucial. The position requires collaboration, organization, record-keeping, and managing inventory of foster program supplies and outreach.

Requirements

  • Prior supervisory experience including responsibility for training staff and/or working with Volunteers
  • Previous Customer Service skills
  • Confident Public Speaking experience
  • At least 21 years of age
  • Good driving record
  • Possess a valid Driver's License and have had it for at least 3 years
  • Complete a Driver Information Form
  • Provide a recent DMV Driving Record Report to be kept on file
  • Provide proof of insurance

Nice To Haves

  • Four months prior animal handling experience preferred with basic understanding of animal husbandry & behaviors
