About The Position

SAFY is seeking a part-time Foster Parent Recruiter for our Cincinnati division in Ohio. As a Foster Parent Recruiter, you will be responsible for the recruitment of foster and respite parents to further the mission of the agency. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field
  • Two years of experience in customer or community relations, service-related sales, or program marketing.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written) as well as being comfortable with public speaking and facilitation of groups
  • Strong interpersonal and people skills to build strong relationships

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in social work, counseling, psychology, sociology, child & family studies, or other approved related field of human services preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develop a targeted Recruitment Plan, which includes the identification of the target customer audience, analysis of the target market, and the development of strategies to deliver an effective recruitment message to prospective foster parents.
  • Work individually and in conjunction with other staff, foster parents, and community-based volunteers to develop and implement on-going recruitment activities to attract caring adults interested in becoming foster and/or respite parents using a variety of creative tactics.
  • Consistently follow-up with prospective adults interested in becoming foster parents using phone, email, face-to-face contact, and mail. Will provide ongoing engagement with prospective foster parents as they go through licensure process.
  • Serve as key liaison with the community and with other organizations, attending events, and regular participation at community meetings. This includes relationship building with prospective foster and respite parents, current foster and respite parents, local business, news media, churches, community volunteers and leaders.
  • Coordinate, plan, schedule, facilitate or oversee speaking engagements at community/civic organizations as needed. Coordinate exhibits and special events. Identify, coordinate, and participate in recruitment opportunities such as foster parent/child welfare conferences, trainings, and community events.
  • Monitor competitors’ foster parent recruitment and advertising activities.
  • Divisional lead in planning, organizing, and facilitating foster parent annual conference and award banquet including initiating contracts with presenters and facility. Coordinate childcare with SAFY staff and volunteers. Keep track and submit all related expenses for conference.
  • Assist with foster and respite parent pre-service training in cases of absence of Family Development Specialist or as directed by the Treatment Director or other supervisors.
