About The Position

Foster Parent Home Finder (4737) is a Full-Time position with a salary range of $23.56 - $24.52 Hourly. This role requires up to 50% travel and operates on a Day shift. The position is ideal for someone who is a natural connector, enjoys meeting new people, and is motivated to make a difference. The Foster Parent Home Finder will be responsible for finding and supporting families willing to open their homes to children in foster care. This role involves community engagement, networking, attending events, and creative recruitment efforts. It is not a desk job, but rather an active role in the community. Every connection made has the potential to change a child's life.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED required.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Reliable vehicle.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%.
  • Willingness to complete certification as a NTDC and CPR/First Aid trainer within 6 months.
  • Ability to coordinate and plan travel for visits and appointments efficiently.
  • Ability to work with economically and culturally diverse populations.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to complete reports and paperwork within strict deadlines and timeframes.
  • Strong engagement, recruitment, and time management skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred in Child welfare, Foster Care, Human Services, Marketing, Social Work, Communications, Relationship-Building & Networking, Public health, or Sales-Oriented Approach and Community Engagement.
  • Lived experience as a foster parent, kinship caregiver, or respite parent.

Responsibilities

  • Share the mission by attending community events, networking with local organizations, schools, businesses, and faith-based groups.
  • Build trust with prospective foster and adoptive families and inspire them to take the next step.
  • Develop monthly recruitment plans including grassroots outreach, local advertising, and creative campaigns.
  • Partner with the communications team to utilize social media and other outreach tools.
  • Guide families through the certification process with compassion and clarity.
  • Conduct home visits and safety assessments to ensure homes meet state standards and families feel supported.
  • Facilitate pre-service and ongoing training such as NTDC, CPR/First Aid, and other preparation programs.
  • Complete initial certification assessment and annual reassessment of foster families in accordance with New York State regulations, including preparing home studies.
  • Monitor homes to ensure compliance with Agency and New York State regulations.
  • Complete emergency certifications for identified kinship resources.
  • Maintain connections with foster parents after certification to build lasting relationships and ensure ongoing engagement.
  • Keep accurate records and documentation.
  • Operate multiple software systems for documenting and driving program/agency required outcomes.
  • Maintain all case records and required documentation per agency standards.
  • Track progress, identify opportunities for growth, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
