Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Minimum of two years of experience working with youth or families (if degree is in Human Services)
  • Minimum of four years of experience working with youth or families (if degree is in a non-Human Services field)
  • Must meet qualifications as a Qualified Professional (QP) with experience serving children and adolescents with a primary mental health diagnosis

Responsibilities

  • Actively recruit, train, and license foster homes
  • Ensure children in care have safe, nurturing environments
  • Guide foster parents toward success
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote the foster care program and attract prospective foster parents
  • Conduct outreach through presentations, community events, mailings, and individual meetings to connect with potential applicants
  • Guide prospective foster parents through the application, training, and licensing process, ensuring timely communication and support
  • Deliver orientation and ongoing training to foster parents in accordance with state and organizational standards
  • Conduct licensing activities including home studies, assessments, and recommendations for licensure
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date records and ensure timely submission of all licensing documentation to the state agency
  • Support foster homes through oversight, guidance, and corrective action plans, collaborating with program leadership to maintain quality standards
  • Assist in the development and implementation of behavioral treatment plans and ongoing foster parent education schedules
