About The Position

The Foster Grandparent Program and Classroom Volunteer Lead assists and works in conjunction with the Aging Strong Team to ensure programs successfully deliver on the mission. The Program Lead supports the operation of the Aging Strong program by overseeing the Foster Grandparent and Classroom Volunteers work streams with moderate oversight. This includes the recruitment, training, oversight, and placement of volunteers, tracking of programmatic metrics, program recognition, and program outreach.

  • Minimum of 1 year of direct human-service work with other adults.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to provide proof of State required minimum liability insurance coverage and have access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and solution-seeking skills.
  • Patience and compassion.
  • Experience and confidence with Microsoft Office software.
  • Able to pass a criminal history background check.
  • 1 year of management experience

Responsibilities

  • Lead coordination efforts and meetings related to Foster Grandparent and Classroom Volunteer’s recruitment and placement.
  • Collaborate closely with fellow team leads in the Aging Strong program.
  • Recruit, onboard, train, place, manage, retain, evaluate, recognize, and terminate program volunteers.
  • Maintain confidential, accurate, and timely documentation of volunteers in accordance with program requirements, including demographic information, background checks, surveys, timecards, etc.
  • Maintain accurate placement files including, attendance, demographic information, student and teacher information, and ongoing service provision in accordance with program requirements.
  • Accurately track and maintain documentation on volunteer time.
  • Properly screen and assess volunteers to determine program eligibility.
  • Execute on plans and strategies to reach potential volunteers.
  • Execute on plans and strategies to represent Aging Strong at various public gatherings.
  • Execute on plans and strategies to build and strengthen relationships with program partners.
  • Maintain a regular social media presence based around program awareness and recognition.
  • Maintain MOUs and other facilities agreements with community partners.
  • Maintain MOUs with all placement stations.
  • Maintain positive relationships with principals and teachers.
  • Create and facilitate a robust and meaningful training program for volunteers.
  • Source and offer relevant resources and tools to volunteers, teachers, and students when applicable.
  • Coordinate regular recognition for volunteers.
  • Regularly vet and invite program partners to educate, train, inform, and/or support volunteers.
  • Understand and support the overall mission, goals, and objectives of all Aging Strong programs.
  • Complete all mandated training by program partners.
  • Drive own vehicle to all outreach and program activities.
  • Potentially attend at least one out of town conference annually.
  • Other duties as assigned.
