About The Position

This role involves interpreting and applying laws, policies, and regulations related to resource family homes, foster care, adoption, and child protective services. The coordinator will maintain a general knowledge of child welfare policies and principles, complete Mutual Family Assessments and reassessments, and ensure licensing standards for all resource homes are met. Responsibilities include accurate documentation of licensing status, engaging in resource family retention activities, and coordinating recruitment efforts to ensure a sufficient quantity and quality of licensed resource homes. The role also involves maintaining and implementing an annual recruitment plan, coordinating PRIDE and other ancillary trainings, and performing case management for all resource family homes.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a Human Services field or minimum of a bachelor’s degree in any related field and completion of required training programs or equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
  • Minimum two years of experience in assigned program area
  • Valid driver's license

Nice To Haves

  • Possession of a BSW or MSW degree and a Commonwealth of Virginia Social Work License preferred

Responsibilities

  • Interprets and applies laws, policies, and regulations in assigned area of responsibility, specifically, resource family homes, foster care, adoption and child protective services
  • Maintains a general knowledge of child welfare policies and principles
  • Completes Mutual Family Assessments and reassessments of resource families, kinship families and ICPC
  • Maintains licensing standards for all resource homes in accordance with policy
  • Accurately maintains reporting and documentation on the licensing status of all resource homes
  • Engages in retention activities of resource families
  • Monitor, coordinates, and administers recruitment activities that generate the quantity and quality of inquiries for viable licensed resource homes
  • Maintains and implements an annual recruitment plan
  • Monitors, coordinates, and administers PRIDE and other ancillary trainings
  • Performs case management activities for all resource family homes
