About The Position

This is a full-time, exempt salaried position for a Foster Care Licensing Social Worker. The role requires a Bachelor's Degree and at least three years of experience working with emotionally and behaviorally disturbed youths and their families. Prior experience with promotional work and the Teaching Family Model of Care is preferred. The position involves developing and supervising recruitment campaigns, maintaining positive media relations, assisting with foster parent recruitment and training, and ensuring compliance with state standards for foster home licensing. The role also requires completing visits and re-licensing packets for foster parents, maintaining updated files, and performing other related duties as assigned. The job requires a valid North Carolina driver's license, insurability, and willingness to be on-call 24 hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. The position demands advanced technical writing, treatment planning, and behavior analysis skills, as well as the ability to build relationships with professionals and foster families. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university required.
  • Must be familiar with current clinical research and practice.
  • Must have at least three (3) years experience working with emotionally and behaviorally disturbed youths and their families.
  • Valid North Carolina driver’s license is required and individual must be insurable by BGHNC carrier.
  • Must be able to demonstrate all the technical and program skills required of a Foster Care Social Worker Staff as well as those skills required of a foster parent.
  • Ability to build relationships with other professionals and foster families.
  • Advanced technical writing skills required.
  • Advanced treatment planning and behavior analysis skills required.

Nice To Haves

  • Some prior experience with promotional work preferred.
  • Teaching Family Model of Care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and supervise recruitment campaign.
  • Maintain positive relations with representatives of the press and media. Work to promote these positive relations and encourage publication of positive press of the Program.
  • Hold regularly scheduled conferences with the Foster Care Licensing Social Worker Supervisor for the purpose of planning and evaluating training classes.
  • Assist with all facets of foster parent recruitment and selection. Assist with advertising, screening, interviewing and final selection.
  • Supervise and coordinate all facets of foster parent training (pre-service, in-service, advanced training programs, etc.) for both the Journey Curriculum and the Teaching Family Model of Care. (New employees will be trained on how to train the Journey.)
  • Model appropriate moral, ethical, professional values for youths, colleagues and community-at-large. Abide by the Standards of Ethical Conduct of NCARCCFS.
  • Adhere to standards set forth by NCDSS on foster home licensing.
  • Coordinate in-service training for your area. The training has to meet the needs of the foster parents and foster children.
  • Complete quarterly visits with all licensed foster parents.
  • Complete re-licensing packets for state approval.
  • Keep all foster parent files updated to meet state and COA standards.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the FCLSW – Director of FC, Chief of Community-based Services Officer, and/or CEO.
