The Foster Care Program Coordinator provides oversight and support to foster care providers and the clients who are placed in their homes. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in social services field preferred and 1-year related experience; May consider experience in lieu of education.
  • Minimum 21 years of age.
  • DPS Level I fingerprint clearance (must possess upon hire and maintain throughout employment).
  • CPR, First Aid, AED certification, if required (must possess upon hire and maintain throughout employment).
  • Current, valid Arizona Driver’s License and 39-month Motor Vehicle Report and proof of vehicle registration liability insurance to meet insurance requirements, if required.
  • Initial current negative TB test result, if required (Employer provides).

Responsibilities

  • Assists with department’s recruiting efforts for Foster Care providers.
  • Assists in the assessment and evaluation of potential foster care homes for home studies, pre-placement visits, licensing standards and suitable placement matches between children and care providers.
  • Assists with presentation of initial and ongoing training of Foster Care providers.
  • Participates in weekly staff meetings, and weekly supervision with Foster Care Program Director.
  • Works a flexible schedule to meet program needs; follows agency attendance policies; participates in on-call rotation.
  • Ensures that foster care homes are maintained in accordance with licensing standards.
  • Develops and maintains professional relationships with co-workers, foster care providers, professional workers, children’s’ family members and other stakeholders necessary.
  • Monitors communication between foster care providers and families, officials and professional workers; confers monthly with individual caseworkers and children’s’ families.
  • Cooperates with other staff to provide social events for children and families throughout the year.
  • Provides support services for foster care homes to include, but not limited to, weekly phone contacts, and monthly visits to the homes.
  • 24/7 on-call support for homes M-F and rotating weekend on call
  • Performs other duties as assigned or necessary as they relate to the nature of the position.
