About The Position

Bethany Christian Services is seeking a Foster Care Licensing Supervisor to join their team. This role involves supporting foster parents and the children in their care by providing training, equipping them, and connecting them to community resources. The position is rooted in Christian faith and aims to ensure children are safe, loved, and connected through family.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Human Services, Social Work or related field of study from an accredited college with two (2) years of experience in a child welfare agency, a child caring institution, or in an agency performing a child welfare function OR Bachelor's degree with three (3) years of experience
  • At least one (1) year of supervisory experience
  • Provide excellent clinical, therapeutic, and crisis intervention skills
  • Obtain and maintain the appropriate professional licensure and registration
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to apply the principles of logic and critical thinking with problem solving
  • Reliable with time sensitive deadlines and tasks
  • Exercise a high level of confidentiality
  • Computer skills sufficient to perform essential functions including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must be 21 years old with a valid driver's license with at least 3 years driving experience in the U.S. to operate a vehicle on behalf of Bethany
  • Must pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check and maintain a reliable vehicle with proof of adequate coverage
  • Pass a criminal history screen, including state and local child protection agency registries
  • Subscription to and integration of the agency Statement of Faith, Mission Statement, and Commitment to Unity

Responsibilities

  • Manage, develop, and train the licensing team, while providing weekly supervision
  • Build a cohesive team and maintain positive employee morale
  • Ensure agency policies and procedures are enforced through employee evaluations, conference requests, time sheets, and reimbursement vouchers
  • Develop, update, and maintain the program operating manuals
  • Stay abreast of current trends and theories to recommend the appropriate changes to agency policy and practices, as needed
  • Develop, enhance, and maintain positive relationships with referral sources, state and federal agencies, volunteer and community agencies, and other external entities
  • Attend project teams and meetings that will enhance the provision of services to children
  • Oversee the operations of the employee selection, training, and orientation processes
  • Manage the intake and referral process within the program
  • Manage the employee vacation schedules to ensure adequate coverage and availability for services
  • Stay abreast of all agency, federal, and state regulatory requirements related to Foster Care, Licensing, and State Adoption
  • Complete other duties as assigned
