As a Foster Care/Licensing Supervisor in the Foster Care department, you will provide leadership, oversight, and support to Licensing and Training Specialists while ensuring foster home recruitment, licensing, compliance, and support activities meet regulatory standards and organizational expectations. You will oversee workflows, monitor performance and outcomes, provide coaching and supervision, and ensure that licensing activities are completed accurately, timely, and in a trauma-informed manner consistent with Thompson’s CARE principles. A typical day as a Foster Care/Licensing Supervisor will include reviewing licensing and re-licensing status reports, conducting individual supervision and coaching with Licensing and Training Specialists, reviewing foster home files for accuracy and compliance, supporting recruitment strategy and pipeline management, addressing barriers impacting licensing timelines, and collaborating with program leadership and system partners to ensure continuity of foster family support. You may also assist with scheduling coverage, responding to urgent licensing issues, supporting staff development, and participating in operational or quality review meetings. As a Foster Care/Licensing Supervisor, this role is typically community-based or hybrid, requiring flexibility to support staff and foster families during some evenings or occasional weekends as needed for orientations, trainings, or recruitment activities, while maintaining standard business hours for supervision, meetings, and compliance responsibilities.
