About The Position

As a Home Finder Program Supervisor, you will represent the agency as a leader overseeing and managing the responsibilities of the foster care home finder staff. You’ll play a vital role in the Together for Youth foster care mission of empowering youth and families to live safely, independently and productively in their communities. You’ll guide both families and staff in this mission, ensuring they feel supported and encouraged. Part desk job, part recruitment, this role is ideal for people who can balance community engagement and connection with the responsibilities of supervising, training and empowering staff as well as managing administrative tasks. We are seeking a candidate with Home Finding experience and leadership capabilities to manage the Home Finders in our Syracuse office.

Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in a relevant human services discipline required.
  • Minimum 2-year experience working with At-Risk youth required.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and reliable vehicle.
  • Ability to work with economically and culturally diverse population.
  • The employee needs to be able to read, write and speak English fluently.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum 1-year experience of supervisory and/or program management experience preferred.
  • Willingness to complete your certification as a NTDC (National Training and Development Curriculum/GPSII) and CPR/First Aid trainer within 6 months

Responsibilities

  • Share the Together for Youth mission by modeling and coaching staff with attending community events and networking with local organizations, schools, businesses, and faith-based organizations
  • Develop partnerships between the agency foster care and communications team in order to use social media and other outreach tools to tell the powerful stories of families we work with and spark community interest.
  • Support the development of resources for programs, including representing programming in the community; serves as a liaison with various community and public agencies, and maintains close contact with school representatives.
  • Secure a sufficient number of trained and certified foster homes.
  • Support staff to walk families through the certification process with compassion and clarity.
  • Oversee the facilitation of pre-service and ongoing trainings such as NTDC (Our foster parent certification course), CPR/First aid, and other programs to help families succeed.
  • Assisting in providing a safe, secure, and structured foster home environment for children as well as monitoring overall service provision of children and families in the program.
  • Ensure the processing of referrals and match children to appropriate foster homes.
  • Monitor homes to ensure they meet Agency and New York State regulations.
  • Stay connected with foster parents after certification to build lasting relationships and ensure ongoing engagement and retention.
  • Work as part of the larger treatment team to establish safety, permanency and well-being outcomes in alignment with Together for Youth values and mission.
  • Recruit, hire, train, and provide overall supervision of staff including conducting staff meetings and preparing and monitoring schedules.
  • Monitor and ensure paperwork and documentation requirements are met.
  • Assist with preparation of budget and ensure fiscal accountability including but not limited to providing regular statistical and billing information, preparing biweekly and/or monthly reports, and completing all state-mandated reports in a timely manner; monitor expenses and approve travel expense records.
  • Keep accurate records and documentation.
  • Operate multiple software systems in documenting and driving program/agency required outcomes. This includes maintaining all case records and required documentation per agency standards.
  • Track progress, identify opportunities for growth, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Monitor, control and maintain foster home productivity outcomes according to budgetary plans and growth strategies.
  • Keep current and up to date on all associated paperwork and case documentation, including completion of certification requirements.
  • Operate program within and according to all regulations which govern such programs and ensure program(s) meets or exceeds all evaluation criteria.
  • Represent the district, region or department in work groups or projects as assigned.
  • Responsible for managing and reducing risk in their area(s) of responsibility and to report it if it is outside of their area(s) of responsibility or seek assistance when needed to resolve the matter.
  • Assures health and safety risks are controlled or removed.
  • Adhere to agency policies and procedures; follows and supports agency mission, vision and values including participating in internal surveys and data collection for continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in agency-wide and program specific quality improvement activities and research and evaluation activities related to the incident review, clinical review of cases and treatment plans, utilization review, long term outcome studies and other related agency initiatives.
