Foster Care Certification Specialist
About The Position
The Recruiting and Certification Specialist is responsible for all aspects of recruiting and certifying Treatment Foster Care (TFC) parents, including training and teaching TFC parents. The specialist understands community relations, Re-Education Philosophies, and community-based service components. Extensive travel is required. The role includes recruitment and retention, community relationship building, and documentation and compliance. The specialist conducts quarterly home safety inspections of treatment foster homes; completes CPR/First Aid certification for Pressley Ridge staff and Treatment Foster Parents; provides monthly foster parent skills-building and training; develops curriculum and schedules for in-service trainings; and completes Treatment Foster Parent recertifications. The position requires a non-traditional work schedule based on service needs. Work takes place in community, home, and school environments.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in human services or a related field.
- One year of experience working with children and families.
- Valid driver’s license and current vehicle insurance.
- State Police clearance, FBI clearance, child abuse clearance, CPSL Mandated Reporter—Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse training, and any additional background checks or clearances required by state governing bodies.
- Vision, speech, and hearing required.
