About The Position
The Foster Care Casework Intern will support the various members of the Foster Care Team. The Foster Care Casework Intern will assist in various operations and activities of the Children’s Home Association of Illinois Foster Care Department. This may include assisting in documentation, filing, attending appointments, attending court hearings, assisting in program projects, and gaining knowledge in the Child Welfare Sector. Intern may assist in coordination of short-term projects.
Requirements
- Education and Experience: Completed or working towards a degree in Social Services, Education, Child Development or related field
- Skill Requirements: Ability to work both independently and as a part of a team; strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to handle stressful situations with tact and professionalism.
- Physical Requirements: Speaking and hearing ability to allow for effective oral communication of information; ability to transport self to various locations; physical and emotional stamina to handle job-related issues.
