About The Position

StepStone Family & Youth Services provides trauma informed, youth centered services to children and families involved in foster care and adoption programs. The Foster Care Case Manager Supervisor plays a vital role in supporting the delivery of high quality case management services that promote safety, permanency, stability, and positive outcomes for youth and families. We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Foster Care Case Manager Supervisor who is passionate about leading teams through trauma informed, strengths based, and family centered practices. This role is ideal for a leader who values collaboration, accountability, mentorship, and service excellence while supporting children and families navigating complex situations. The Foster Care Case Manager Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily operations, workflow, and quality of services provided by the foster care case management team. This position ensures timely documentation, compliance with agency and state standards, and consistent support to staff, foster families, and youth. The ideal candidate is organized, supportive, solutions focused, and committed to fostering a respectful and collaborative environment while helping staff deliver impactful services to children and families.

Requirements

  • BSW/BA in Human Services or MSW/MA in Human Services (preferred) with no less than five (5) years direct experience in the child welfare field and two (2) years supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for direct supervision of case management team as well as coordination, accuracy, appropriateness and timeliness of workflow.
  • Must be available as mentor and coach to assist and train team members in the timely preparation and completion of work assignments.
  • May carry an occasional case and/or complete foster parent re-evaluations as needed in order to troubleshoot and ensure timely monitoring and delivery of services
  • Ability to document timely in a clear, concise manner and teach others to do so.
  • Possess skills to assist, interpret and deliver case and court related information.
  • Possess a positive attitude concerning all aspects of working in a challenging environment including significant patience and respect for peers and team members, as well as the children and families receiving program services.
  • Ability to arrive/report to work on time and ready to work.
  • Ability to abide by principles of EEO compliance and a workplace of dignity and respect
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a group/team setting.

  • Ability to take guidance and direction from supervisors.
  • Prioritize meeting all deadlines given by director and regional director, communicating any barriers to completion well in advance.
  • Ensure 100 percent staff compliance with all OPM and RCCL child visit, service, and documentation standards
  • Ensure timely staff reporting of critical incidents and significant events in state and agency data reporting systems
  • Ensure GA Score and SHINES are updated timely by staff with no missing or overdue tasks, no missing child visits.
