About The Position

As a Forward Deployed Product Manager at Valtech, you will be integrated into a small team of senior FDEs and will lead the redesign of how AI is integrated into your client's business. You will not deliver strategy slides or manage long backlogs. You will work alongside your client, understand the true workflows, and build experiences that transform AI investment into sustainable results. You are a T-shaped product leader: expert in product management, comfortable in engineering and UX. You can read a system architecture and challenge technical choices. You can collaborate with a designer and shape a user experience. You move fluidly between business objectives, functional code, and human experience. You are comfortable with ambiguity, able to learn quickly from your mistakes, and motivated by the shortest path between a real problem and a functional solution.

Requirements

• Demonstrable experience as a Senior Product Manager within a digital consulting firm, product organization, or embedded team environment, with a track record of delivering software into production, not just discovery phases.
• T-shaped skills profile. Product is your core expertise, but you have enough hands-on experience in engineering and UX to actively contribute to these areas, not just talk about them. You know how to read and reason about code, prototype an interaction in Figma, and participate in technical and design discussions involving trade-offs.
• Proven experience deploying AI or ML solutions into production, not just pilots. You understand why most AI POCs never make it to production and have direct experience with the human, organizational, and governance challenges that cause this.
• Operational mastery of modern AI tools throughout the SDLC: AI assistance for requirements and synthesis, prototyping with tools like Figma Make or Claude, pair development with engineers, agent evaluation frameworks, and judgment to distinguish what is production-ready from what is not.
• Strong executive presence combined with ground-level credibility. You are as effective in a workshop with two engineers as in a review with an executive sponsor. You quickly gain the trust of client teams and act as a partner, not a vendor.
• Proven ability to break down ambiguous business problems into composable, deliverable work units and sequence them to ensure daily progress. You are comfortable with continuous pressure to demonstrate value, not long cycles.
• Good business acumen. Comfortable in milestone-based engagements where the pod is responsible for deliverables, not time spent.
• Experience in modern delivery environments, with the ability to adapt the execution model to the mission rather than applying a rigid framework. Comfortable even in the absence of a backlog, rituals, or an established playbook.
• Track record of contributing to team development. The FDE model relies on skill transfer: knowing how to coach a business expert towards autonomy is an integral part of the role, not a bonus.

Nice To Haves

• Comfortable in ambiguity. You move forward into the unknown without waiting for a brief, backlog, or prior validation. The first week of an engagement, where everything is yet to be defined, is the part of the job that motivates you the most.
• Naturally T-shaped. You actively develop skills around your specialty, as too narrow an expertise slows the team down. You are the PM capable of building a functional prototype, writing a SQL query, and conducting a user test in the same week, without considering it out of scope.
• "Polyglot" communicator. You can hold an architecture conversation with an engineer, an interaction design conversation with a designer, a workflow conversation with a business expert, and a business results conversation with an executive sponsor—often in the same morning.
• Deeply curious about AI as a discipline, not a buzzword. You experiment with new models, tools, and agent patterns autonomously. You have an informed opinion on what really works and what is "noise," and you can defend it.
• Results-obsessed. You measure your work by its impact on users and the business, not by deliverables produced or tickets closed. You prefer to invalidate a hypothesis in a week rather than spend a quarter validating it.
• High initiative and bias for action, balanced by the necessary discernment to know when to stop, learn, and realign before continuing to build.

Responsibilities

• Be integrated into a Forward Deployed Experience Pod, working closely with the client to understand true workflows before rethinking them.
• Take ownership of workflows, KPIs, and alignment for your pod. Define success metrics with the executive sponsor from week one, then build to achieve them. Measure success on business outcomes, not on features delivered.
• Rethink the human experience around AI, not the other way around.
• Break down complex business problems into composable, deliverable work chunks that the pod can deploy in days, not quarters. Progress in production every day.
• Work within the client's stack alongside your pod's Forward Deployed Engineer and Forward Deployed Experience Designer.
• Collaborate with Valtech leadership and client executive sponsors to remove blockers in real-time: legal, compliance, architecture, risk, governance, internal dynamics.
• Govern, secure, and measure outcomes from day one. AI in production requires careful attention to evaluations, guardrails, and human-in-the-loop design. You define the framework that proves the solution works and continues to work after the pod's engagement ends.
• Ensure a smooth transition of ownership. At the end of the engagement, the business expert is able to drive the solution autonomously. Documentation, standards, and team rituals are an integral part of the deliverable.
• Identify new opportunities directly from the field. Embedded pods detect emerging issues before anyone else and feed these signals back to fuel future engagements.
• Contribute to the evolution of the FDE practice at Valtech. Each pod is a learning loop: share what works, what fails, and the patterns to industrialize for future client deployments.
