About The Position

We are looking for a Forward Deployed Product Design Lead to turn complex product opportunities into coherent, buildable, and production-ready experiences. You’ll work directly with client leaders, users, product teams, and engineers—often in environments where both the problem and path forward are still taking shape. You’ll clarify what matters, shape the end-to-end experience, and use AI-assisted development tools to move rapidly from ideas and workflows to sophisticated coded prototypes. This is a hands-on role at the intersection of experience strategy, product design, consulting, and software delivery. You’ll lead through the work itself: facilitating decisions, modeling complex systems, prototyping in code, creating implementation-ready context, and staying closely involved through production.

Requirements

  • Significant experience designing and delivering complex digital products, ideally within consulting, enterprise, B2B, or workflow-heavy environments.
  • Strong foundations in product design, interaction design, information architecture, research, service design, accessibility, and design systems.
  • A portfolio of shipped products demonstrating meaningful involvement from early product framing through production.
  • Demonstrated ability to turn ambiguous business and user challenges into clear product models, workflows, priorities, and interfaces.
  • Strong proficiency with Figma and modern prototyping approaches.
  • Experience creating coded prototypes or production interfaces using HTML, CSS, JavaScript or TypeScript, and modern frameworks such as React.
  • Fluency with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or comparable environments.
  • Ability to create sophisticated interactive prototypes using real or representative data to validate product concepts with users and stakeholders.
  • Experience designing complete workflows, considering roles, handoffs, data, permissions, exceptions, edge cases, and failure states.
  • Working knowledge of component libraries, responsive design, APIs, data models, version control, and modern software delivery practices.
  • Ability to translate experience intent into clear flows, behaviors, content guidance, accessibility requirements, acceptance criteria, and implementation context.
  • Experience structuring design and product decisions so they can be effectively consumed by both engineers and AI coding agents.
  • Experience collaborating directly with engineering teams throughout implementation, design QA, release, and iteration.
  • Strong facilitation, communication, consulting, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Ability to communicate product and experience decisions confidently with both executive and technical audiences.
  • Comfortable working visibly and iteratively with clients rather than relying on a traditional design handoff.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience taking AI-enabled or data-intensive products from concept through production.
  • Strong understanding of human-AI interaction, including oversight, confidence, escalation, transparency, and failure recovery.
  • Ability to navigate an existing codebase and contribute production-quality frontend work when appropriate.
  • Experience with agentic development workflows or designing context and specifications for AI coding agents.
  • Experience using analytics, user feedback, and operational signals to continuously improve shipped products.
  • Experience helping organizations adopt AI-enabled product, design, or delivery practices.
  • Experience working across both greenfield and brownfield products, including internal and customer-facing experiences.
  • Experience supporting client pursuits through rapid concepts and prototypes that make opportunities tangible early in the sales or discovery process.
