About The Position

This internship focuses on analyzing supply chain and operations data to identify patterns, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement. The intern will gain practical experience by working with business users to translate data insights into actionable strategies. The role involves learning about Clarios' supply chain business functions, building domain knowledge by collaborating with planners and operators, and contributing to the development of dashboards, workflows, and decision-support tools within a decision intelligence platform. The intern will also support the development of predictive and prescriptive analytics models and assist in gathering data requirements from various sources. The use of AI-powered development tools is encouraged to foster rapid iteration and develop strong engineering fundamentals.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited U.S. college or university.
  • Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, IT, Computer Science, and/or related field.
  • Ability to be in the greater Milwaukee area in the summer.
  • Foundational skills in data manipulation and analysis (SQL, Python, or Excel).
  • Curiosity about decision intelligence platforms such as Palantir and Generative AI tools.
  • Must be authorized to work for any employer in the US without the need for sponsorship, now or in the future.

Nice To Haves

  • Coursework or projects using Python or R for data analysis and automation.
  • Familiarity with decision intelligence tools (Palantir, Databricks, etc.) or BI tools (PowerBI, Tableau, Microsoft Fabric).
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) or databases (SQL Server, Snowflake).
  • Coursework in statistics, machine learning, optimization, or operations research.
  • Familiarity with agile ways of working (user stories, sprints).

Responsibilities

  • Analyze supply chain and operations data to uncover patterns, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement, and turn findings into actionable insights for business users.
  • Learn supply chain business functions and build domain knowledge by working closely with planners and operators.
  • Pair with manager/mentor, following established patterns and standards for reliable and reusable work.
  • Document methodology, business logic, and assumptions for transparency and future reference.
  • Participate in the pod's sprint cadence, including planning, standups, demos, and retrospectives.
  • Own one scoped summer project end-to-end and present it to team and business stakeholders.
  • Build components of dashboards, Ontology-based workflows, and decision-support tools within the decision intelligence platform.
  • Support the development of predictive models (demand forecasting, inventory optimization) and prescriptive analytics (scenario planning, decision support) on real datasets.
  • Help gather and document data requirements from diverse sources (Azure, data lakes, SQL Server, Excel).
  • Use AI-powered development tools to build and iterate quickly while developing strong engineering fundamentals.
