Forward Deployed Engineer

Oscilar
•$120,000 - $140,000

About The Position

Oscilar is hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE), a deeply technical, customer-facing role at the intersection of customer success, platform expertise, and agentic AI deployment. The FDE owns the full technical relationship with strategic customers, from initial technical conversations through production deployment and ongoing expansion. They design agentic risk systems, lead implementations, and relay customer insights to improve Oscilar’s platform. The role spans technical pre-sales, customer implementation and deployment, agentic AI deployment, and product intelligence. The FDE works with customer engineering, data, risk, and executive stakeholders, as well as internal Technical Account Managers, Account Executives, Sales Engineers, product teams, and engineering teams. They configure AI agents and decisioning rules, implement and optimize workflows, guide customer strategy for AI in risk operations, and develop reusable deployment resources.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years in a technical customer-facing role, such as Solutions Engineer, Technical Account Manager, or Forward Deployed Engineer, within an agentic AI, B2B SaaS, or fintech company.
  • Demonstrated track record of owning technical implementations from initial scoping through production go-live.
  • Strong command of REST APIs, webhooks, and data integration patterns, including ETL, event streaming, and cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake.
  • Proficiency in SQL and ability to navigate and interpret data pipelines, model outputs, and feature schemas.
  • Fluency with JSON, data schemas, and enterprise integration architectures.
  • Hands-on experience with LLMs such as Claude or GPT, including building practical solutions, refining prompts, analyzing logs, debugging agent behavior, and translating ambiguous business requirements into precise AI task instructions.
  • Proficiency with AI coding tools such as Claude, Codex, Cursor, or similar tools for prototyping, automation, and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to design AI configurations that combine prompt-driven logic with rule-based decisioning, chain AI outputs across workflow steps, and develop customer-focused automations.
  • Familiarity with agentic AI concepts, including orchestration, tool use, memory, human-in-the-loop design, and evaluation frameworks.
  • Ability to configure and troubleshoot complex software platforms in depth using engineering-level thinking and platform expertise.
  • Experience with API testing and prototyping tools such as Postman, including independently building and validating lightweight integrations and agent workflow configurations.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure and comfort working in cloud-native environments.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with financial services customers, ideally across fraud, credit risk, AML/compliance, or payments; this is strongly preferred.
  • Experience deploying or configuring AI/ML platforms, agentic workflows, or LLM-powered systems in an enterprise environment; this is a significant advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Lead technical discovery with prospective customers, identifying integration requirements, data architecture constraints, and risk decisioning objectives.
  • Architect and deliver proof-of-concept implementations using Oscilar’s platform, translating customer challenges into workflows and agentic solutions.
  • Design and present customer-specific solution architectures, including API integration patterns, data pipeline design, and agent workflow configuration.
  • Contribute to technical sections of RFPs, security questionnaires, and integration feasibility assessments.
  • Serve as the primary technical voice during customer evaluations and build credibility with engineering, data, and risk teams.
  • Own end-to-end technical implementations from kickoff through go-live, including integration design, data mapping, agent workflow configuration, and user acceptance testing.
  • Configure and optimize Oscilar AI agents and decisioning rules to fit customers’ operational contexts, risk appetites, and regulatory environments.
  • Use AI coding tools to prototype scripts, build workflow automations, parse logs, and debug integrations.
  • Serve as the primary technical contact for assigned accounts and build trusted relationships with technical practitioners and executive stakeholders.
  • Lead technical health reviews, identify performance gaps, and drive escalations to resolution.
  • Identify expansion opportunities by connecting customer workflow gaps to underused Oscilar capabilities and partnering with Account Executives on proposals.
  • Lead technical enablement and training so customer teams can operate Oscilar’s platform independently.
  • Design and deploy multi-step agentic workflows for onboarding, fraud investigation, credit decisioning, case management, alert triage, and compliance monitoring.
  • Configure agent parameters through Oscilar’s UI, including field mappings, matching thresholds, and disposition policies.
  • Evaluate customer data infrastructure, model outputs, and decisioning logic to improve agent performance and production reliability.
  • Craft and refine LLM prompts within agent workflows to support accurate, auditable, and compliant behavior.
  • Participate in agent backtesting by validating configuration changes against historical case data before production deployment.
  • Guide customers in defining agentic AI strategies for risk operations, including automation decisions, human-in-the-loop oversight, and effectiveness measurement.
  • Apply and communicate agent evaluation concepts, including evals, golden datasets, and false-positive feedback loops.
  • Stay current on agentic AI patterns, tooling, and best practices, and bring that expertise to customer strategy conversations.
  • Synthesize patterns across customer deployments and provide structured product feedback, feature requests, and gap analyses to product and engineering teams.
  • Create reusable implementation playbooks, agent workflow templates, and integration accelerators.
  • Participate in roadmap discussions and use customer and deployment insights to help identify future product needs.
