Forward Deployed Engineer

SimpleCITIGarden City, NY

About The Position

We are hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer to build real autonomous AI agents that can execute business work inside our company’s existing tech stack. This is not a role for basic automation builders, scraping bot developers, or chatbot-only developers. We need someone who has built agentic systems that can understand a goal, plan the steps, use tools, take action, make decisions within defined limits, and complete work the way a trained human operator would. The role will focus on building agents that can operate across CRM, email, calendar, documents, spreadsheets, databases, internal systems, and third-party software. These agents should be able to retrieve information, update records, create outputs, communicate when needed, escalate for approval, and complete multi-step business objectives with minimal human direction.

Requirements

  • Experience building autonomous AI agents or agentic AI systems.
  • Strong understanding of agent architecture, planning, reasoning, tool use, memory, state tracking, and multi-agent orchestration.
  • Experience with agentic frameworks such as NemoClaw, OpenClaw, Hermes, or comparable frameworks.
  • Ability to connect agents to real business systems, including APIs, CRMs, email, documents, databases, and internal tools.
  • Experience building agents that can execute tasks, not just generate text or recommendations.
  • Strong software engineering skills in Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, or similar languages.
  • Experience with guardrails, human approval flows, logging, observability, testing, and reliability controls.
  • Ability to work directly with leadership, understand business workflows, and turn operational needs into deployed agentic systems.
