About The Position

Forward Deployed Engineer – AI Agents San Francisco | 5 Days On-Site - Plus 10% customer travel $175K–$250K + Equity Agentic AI | Enterprise Automation | High-Growth Startup Revive is partnering with a fast-growing AI startup building AI agents that automate complex business operations end-to-end across industries including healthcare, logistics, payroll and marketplaces. They're looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer who combines strong technical ability with genuine commercial instinct. You'll own the journey from the first customer conversation through POC, deployment and ultimately signed contract. This isn't a traditional engineering or solutions role, you'll build with customers, deploy AI agents against real-world data and workflows, and help turn successful pilots into long-term enterprise relationships.

Requirements

• 2–4 years' experience in a customer-facing technical role such as Forward Deployed Engineering, Solutions Engineering or customer-facing Software Engineering.
• Strong technical foundations with Python and/or TypeScript.
• Experience building and deploying real software solutions.
• Exposure to LLMs, AI agents, APIs or workflow automation.
• Excellent customer-facing communication.
• The ability to translate vague business problems into technical solutions.
• Commercial awareness — you're comfortable discussing the technology and what it takes to get a deal across the line.
• A high-ownership, fast-moving startup mentality.

Nice To Haves

• The sweet spot is someone who's technical enough to get the POC working and commercial enough to get the customer to sign.

Responsibilities

• Run technical discovery and scope automation opportunities.
• Build demos, POCs and production deployments.
• Configure AI agents, prompts, tools, evals and guardrails.
• Integrate agents with customer data, APIs and existing systems.
• Own pilot success metrics and deployment outcomes.
• Work closely with Engineering to turn customer feedback into product improvements.
• Help navigate pricing, security, procurement and ultimately close the deal.
• Expand successful deployments into additional teams and workflows.
