Forward Deployed Engineer - New Grad
About The Position
As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you will work at the intersection of engineering, product, and customer delivery. You will embed directly with customers, understand their workflows, and design and deploy AI-powered solutions that deliver real-world impact. This autonomous, hands-on role involves working in ambiguous environments, collaborating directly with customers, and helping shape product direction based on field insights. You will partner with Product and Engineering to turn customer needs into scalable systems that improve healthcare operations. Luminai structures healthcare operational workflows, automates manual handoffs, and deploys end-to-end workflows across systems using an integrated intelligence layer. The company says its team works in-office four days a week, Monday through Friday, with Wednesday optional work from home, in either San Francisco, California, or New York, New York.
Requirements
- Strong proficiency in Python.
- Experience working with cloud infrastructure such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Ability to translate ambiguous requirements into working, production-ready systems.
- Strong communication skills and comfort working with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- High ownership mindset and ability to operate independently in fast-changing environments.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with TypeScript or JavaScript.
- Experience with AI systems, including LLMs, vector databases, prompt engineering, or agent frameworks.
Responsibilities
- Embed directly with customers to understand their workflows, constraints, and success criteria.
- Design, build, and deploy AI-driven solutions tailored to operational problems.
- Build and maintain production systems, including APIs, integrations, monitoring, and feedback loops.
- Translate business requirements and customer needs into technical architectures and implementations.
- Operate in high-stakes environments where reliability, speed, and judgment matter.
- Identify patterns across customer deployments and share insights with core product and platform development.
- Partner with Product and Engineering to influence the roadmap, abstractions, and long-term system design.
- Own deployments end-to-end, from initial scoping through launch and iteration.
