We’re looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer to help deploy, extend, and integrate LIGER, an enterprise AI platform that connects knowledge, systems, and agentic workflows to accelerate outcomes across federal missions. You’ll join a small, cross-functional team working directly with customers to get LIGER into production and build the features that make it stick. This position can be supported in a hybrid/remote capacity as there may be on-site work required by the customer. This is a customer-facing technical role. You’ll embed with customers for 60-180 days post-sale, configure deployments, build custom integrations, and ship features that solve real problems on the ground. You’ll also run proof-of-concept demonstrations, translate customer needs into working code, and feed insights back to the core product team. If you’re excited about building at the intersection of AI, government missions, and real users, keep reading. This position requires the ability to obtain a CBP Background Investigation; U.S. citizenship is required. This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET clearance. LIGER sits within LMI’s Chief Technology Office. We’re a small, high-visibility team building AI tools for federal agencies. The culture is more startup than traditional government contractor; we move fast, solve problems in design spikes rather than scheduled reviews, and care more about outcomes than process. That said, we’re building for users who need reliability and trust, so craft and attention to detail matter. As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you’ll work directly with customers while staying closely connected to the core product team. You’ll have real influence on what gets built and how it gets deployed. LMI is a new breed of digital solutions provider dedicated to accelerating government impact with innovation and speed. Investing in technology and prototypes ahead of need, LMI brings commercial-grade platforms and mission-ready AI to federal agencies at commercial speed. Leveraging our mission-ready technology and solutions, proven expertise in federal deployment, and strategic relationships, we enhance outcomes for the government, efficiently and effectively. With a focus on agility and collaboration, LMI serves the defense, space, healthcare, and energy sectors—helping agencies navigate complexity and outpace change. Headquartered in Tysons, Virginia, LMI is committed to delivering impactful results that strengthen missions and drive lasting value.
