About The Position

Accordions Data & Analytics and Engineering team offers cutting-edge, intelligent solutions to a global clientele, leveraging a blend of domain knowledge, sophisticated technology tools, and deep analytics capabilities to tackle complex business challenges. We partner with Private Equity clients and their Portfolio Companies across diverse sectors, including Retail, CPG, Healthcare, Media & Entertainment, Technology, and Logistics. We deliver agentic workflows, and solutions designed to streamline processes and enhance business insights across vast and complex data sets ranging from Sales, Operations, Marketing, Pricing, Customer Strategies, and more. This role can be based in any of our US office locations and has the potential for client travel to be onsite. Ideal candidates should be local to the desired location. This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship. We're looking for a rare combination: a data scientist who thinks like a strategist and a strategist who speaks fluent data. You fall in love with problems and quantify complex situations using math. This isn't a role in building models in isolation—it's about transforming how a business makes decisions, identifying opportunities, and driving growth. You'll be an equal parts analyst, advisor, and architect of our strategic direction.

Requirements

5+ years of experience in data science, engineering or data engineering roles with increasing strategic responsibility
Strong foundation in data platforms, data science, statistics, machine learning, and quantitative analysis
Experience working directly with business leaders to convey options and tradeoffs to define solution design and scope.
Demonstrated experience influencing business strategy through data
Track record of identifying and driving growth opportunities
Excellent communication skills with technical and executive audiences
Proficiency in modern data science tools and languages
Understanding of business finance and growth frameworks

Nice To Haves

Additional considering will be given to engineers who have a background in data but have yet to work deeply with LLM enabled workflows

Responsibilities

Sit at the intersection of data and strategy, turning complex business challenges into quantifiable opportunities.
Dive deep into numbers to surface insights that others miss, then translating those insights into actionable growth strategies.
Work directly with leadership to shape major business decisions, from market expansion and pricing strategy to resource allocation and competitive positioning.
Identify the right questions to ask before anyone else thinks of asking them, building the analytical frameworks to answer those questions, and presenting recommendations that fundamentally shift how we operate.
Own strategic initiatives from conception through execution, measuring impact and iterating as you go.
Travel to client sites as needed, leading AI assessment and Strategy Engagements.
