About The Position

Accelerant is undergoing a period of rapid change with significant internal systems being implemented and business users rapidly developing AI-enabled capabilities. The Forward-Deployed Solution Engineer will be embedded within delivery programs and product teams to provide real-time technical review and guidance, ensuring solutions are developed quickly, meet quality standards, and are operable and maintainable at an enterprise scale. This role acts as a crucial link between business needs and enterprise-level operational readiness, adapting to evolving development practices like AI-assisted development.

Requirements

  • Strong practical knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS).
  • Understanding of how enterprise applications are integrated, operated, and maintained at scale.
  • Comfort with API design and integration patterns (REST, event-driven architectures, MCP-style tool connectivity).
  • Understanding of data product concepts, lineage, ownership, and describing data at source.
  • Ability to read and review code and provide substantive feedback.
  • Understanding of how AI-assisted and agentic development approaches are changing software development.
  • Practical experience with at least one AI development framework.
  • Understanding of governance considerations for AI-generated or AI-assisted capabilities in production.
  • Ability to assess AI-enabled capabilities for enterprise readiness against a defined standard.
  • Experience working with enterprise SaaS platforms, particularly in finance, operations, or insurance domains.
  • Understanding of how systems like ERP and CRM platforms model data and the challenges of direct integration to application databases.
  • Understanding of what a canonical data model aims to solve.
  • Clear communication with both engineers and business stakeholders, adjusting register as needed.
  • Ability to explain technical constraints to a non-technical audience accurately.
  • Ability to challenge technical decisions constructively.
  • Orientation toward delivery and accountability for task completion.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and ability to make progress on partially defined problems.
  • Ability to form a view without complete information.
  • Direct communication style.
  • Documentation of thinking.
  • Willingness to be challenged and welcome feedback.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with D365, Salesforce, or similar platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Sit inside delivery teams to attend design and development sessions, review technical decisions in real-time, and intervene when necessary to maintain engineering rigor.
  • Continuously assess the conformity of built solutions to Accelerant's architecture principles, data standards, and integration patterns, proposing better paths and creating new patterns where needed.
  • Make sound, independent technical decisions quickly based on available information, escalating only when necessary.
  • Assess business-built capabilities (using AI tools, low-code, scripting), identify gaps for enterprise readiness, and create paths to production, ensuring appropriate data contracts, ownership, documentation, and supportability.
  • Design and validate integration patterns between enterprise systems (ERP, CRM, HR, reinsurance) and the data platform/applications, ensuring clean, well-documented, API-first integrations that are supportable without the original designer.
  • Ensure data product quality and governance by working with teams and the Data Office to define data at source, assign ownership, and maintain accurate, accessible canonical data models.
  • Ensure technical decisions are recorded through Architectural Decision Records (ADRs) and that knowledge is made durable and accessible, not solely residing with individuals.
