About The Position

EROAD is a global fleet management technology company, delivering GPS tracking, video telematics, compliance automation and driver safety tools to fleet operators across New Zealand, Australia and North America. We're growing our Data Platform team to put data engineering talent directly in front of our strategic North American customers. This role blends hands-on data engineering with direct customer ownership, from first workshop through to delivered solution.

Requirements

5+ years of hands-on data engineering or analytics engineering experience
Strong SQL skills
Experience with a cloud data warehouse, Snowflake preferred, or equivalent hands-on depth on another modern cloud data warehouse
Python or another relevant programming language
Experience with dbt or an equivalent transformation framework
Solid data quality and governance practices
Git-based development and CI/CD experience
Strong customer-facing communication skills, comfortable presenting to executive audiences

Nice To Haves

Power BI dashboard-building experience
Prior experience in professional services, solutions engineering or technical consulting
Experience with Snowflake Secure Data Sharing or customer data integration
Streaming or near-real-time data experience
Background in transportation, telematics, logistics, compliance or cold-chain, or familiarity with North American fleet operations

Responsibilities

Lead discovery workshops with customers to understand their business problems firsthand
Present findings and solution approaches to both technical teams and executive stakeholders
Translate business problems into scoped data, analytics and AI solutions
Build and prototype applied AI use cases directly with customers
Own engagements end to end, including scoping, estimates and risk management
Work closely with Sales, Product and Engineering to shape and deliver customer solutions
