About The Position

ZoomInfo is building its Forward Deployed Engineering function and is seeking an individual to define its operations, including engagement processes, deliverables, and playbooks. This role will embed directly with ZoomInfo's strategic enterprise accounts, often in financial services, insurance, technology, and other globally distributed industries. The FDE will work alongside customer teams to understand their go-to-market challenges, then design and deliver bespoke intelligence applications that combine ZoomInfo's third-party data with the customer's first-party data to drive business outcomes. The role owns the engagement end-to-end, from discovery through deployment and executive presentation to production code. The FDE will leverage ZoomInfo's extensive data foundation, including company intelligence, contact data, buying signals, intent data, and specialized vertical datasets, to build purpose-built applications tailored to each customer's specific personas and workflows. This position is crucial for turning early wins into a repeatable model for the Forward Deployed Engineering function.

Requirements

High Ownership and Ambiguity Tolerance: Comfortable making judgment calls with incomplete information and building process where none exists.
Strong Software and Data Engineering Fundamentals: Proficient in Python and SQL.
Experience working in cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, or similar).
Experience building or substantially working with data pipelines, entity matching or deduplication logic, and API integrations.
Experience building applications that real users depend on daily.
Comfortable navigating and integrating against APIs quickly.
Fluency in LLM-based development environments like Claude Code or Codex.
Customer-Facing Communication: Experience working directly with customers in a technical capacity (solutions engineering, consulting, technical account management, or previous FDE role).
Ability to synthesize complex data needs for an executive audience and discuss matching architecture with a data engineering team.
Comfortable navigating enterprise environments with competing stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with API tooling — GraphQL, REST, Postman, authentication patterns (JWT, OAuth).
Experience working with B2B data, CRM systems (Salesforce, HubSpot), enrichment and orchestration tooling (RingLead, Clearbit, Demandbase), or similar go-to-market infrastructure.
Familiarity with concepts like firmographic enrichment, entity resolution, hierarchy management, TAM modeling, intent data, and account-based prospecting.

Responsibilities

Define the operations of the Forward Deployed Engineering function, including engagement runbooks, deliverables, and playbooks.
Embed directly with strategic enterprise accounts to understand their go-to-market challenges.
Design and deliver bespoke intelligence applications combining ZoomInfo's data with customer's first-party data.
Own customer engagements end-to-end: discovery, deployment, executive presentation, and production code.
Work closely with data and product teams to leverage ZoomInfo's data foundation for customer solutions.
Serve as the primary technical point of contact for assigned strategic accounts.
Run discovery sessions with data engineers, sales operations leaders, and revenue executives.
Diagnose underlying customer problems and scope use cases.
Build the FDE playbook by documenting successful frameworks, phases, integration patterns, and templates.
Feed field learnings back to product, engineering, and data teams.
Drive customer stickiness and identify expansion opportunities.
Build custom fit models from historical win/loss patterns.
Configure evergreen and tailored in-market signals.
Implement ongoing governance and automation for data quality and business evolution.
