About The Position

As a Research Associate on the Formulations team, this role will focus 50% on Pharmacy and 50% as a Formulator. You will be expected to learn and perform all aspects of controlled substances handling and dispensing. You will be responsible for maintaining complete chain of custody of controlled substances, accurately dispensing, and maintaining study schedules. Your responsibilities may also include formulation duties including performing test and control article preparation, as well as TA transfers.

Requirements

  • BS in a scientific discipline or relevant experience (Pharmacy experience is preferred).
  • 1+ year of experience working in a regulated environment; combination of relevant experience and education considered.
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office suite.
  • English proficiency required to read and interpret documents such as industry specific documents.
  • Solid reasoning abilities.
  • Able to operate laboratory equipment.
  • Work with a diverse group of people in a fast-paced environment.
  • Work cross functionally on process improvements.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail and ability to multi-task.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring accountability and reconciliation of controlled substances and facilitating quarterly audits.
  • Performing routine QC of chain of custody forms.
  • Performing test article pharmacy processes for adherence to GLP regulations.
  • Addressing audit findings and implementing appropriate corrective actions.
  • Receiving test and control articles and documenting the chain of custody of received materials including controlled substances.
  • Maintaining the inventory for all test and control materials including controlled substances.
  • Accurately measuring and weighing out required quantities of test article, as needed.
  • Maintaining proper documentation of equipment calibration, use and maintenance as required, i.e. balances, refrigerators, freezers, etc.
  • Review of equipment documentation.
  • Performing reconciliation of test materials, including controlled substances used in studies.
  • Ensuring training records for pharmacy laboratory procedures and equipment are complete and accurate.
  • Performing dose preparation, sampling and dispensing of test and control article materials.
  • Ensuring appropriate review of data is completed in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrating high quality documentation skills.
  • Addressing audit findings and implementing appropriate corrective actions.
