About The Position

We are seeking a Formulations Group Leader (RNA‑LNP) to join our growing Formulations team. This is a hands‑on, lab‑based leadership role ideal for a scientist who is passionate about RNA therapeutics and ready to take the next step into people leadership. In this role, you will support and execute analytical and formulation activities related to RNA‑lipid nanoparticle (LNP) development, while also serving as a day‑to‑day leader for a small, highly technical team. You’ll balance active bench work with coaching, performance oversight, and operational support—playing a key role in both scientific execution and team success.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Biological Sciences, Biochemistry, or a related field with 3–4 years of relevant laboratory experience OR M.S. in Biological Sciences, Biochemistry, or a related field with 1–2 years of relevant laboratory experience
  • Hands‑on experience in RNA‑LNP, siRNA, mRNA, or related genetic modality formulation, analytics, or process development
  • Strong proficiency in chromatography and separation techniques, including HPLC
  • Prior experience leading, training, or mentoring other laboratory staff
  • Demonstrated ability to design experiments, interpret results, troubleshoot issues, and follow SOPs
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and time‑management skills
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a matrixed team environment
  • Positive, adaptable mindset with a passion for continuous improvement

Nice To Haves

  • In vitro or cellular assay experience
  • Experience working with traditional biologics (e.g., peptides, monoclonal antibodies)
  • Direct people‑management experience
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship

Responsibilities

  • Perform and support analytical characterization of RNA‑LNPs using techniques and instrumentation such as HPLC, SoloVPE, MFI, ÄKTA, DLS, HIAC, and viscosity measurements
  • Support formulation activities for RNA, proteins, and buffer systems as needed
  • Collaborate closely with research scientists to execute experiments in accordance with established protocols, methods, and SOPs
  • Interpret data, troubleshoot assays, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts
  • Maintain high standards of documentation in compliance with GLP using electronic lab notebooks
  • Ensure laboratory organization, cleanliness, and adherence to safety practices
  • Provide day‑to‑day leadership, performance monitoring, and technical guidance for team members
  • Support onboarding and training of new hires; contribute to interview and hiring processes as needed
  • Balance bench‑level scientific work with leadership, administrative, and operational responsibilities
  • Promote a positive team culture, strong morale, and collaborative problem‑solving
  • Ensure high standards of quality, efficiency, and coverage across assigned shifts and responsibilities
  • Communicate organizational updates and reinforce company vision and values
