About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Analytical Chemist to support our RNA‑LNP formulations program. In this role, you will perform advanced analytical chemistry techniques to characterize RNA‑lipid nanoparticles and support formulation development activities. You will also serve as a team leader, driving performance, coaching team members, and contributing to operational improvements within the laboratory.

Requirements

  • B.S. in biological or biochemical sciences (or related field) with 3–4 years of relevant lab experience, or M.S. with 1–2 years of experience.
  • Experience in formulation, analytical, or process development for genetic modalities (e.g., siRNA, mRNA, RNA‑LNP).
  • Demonstrated expertise in chromatography and separation techniques.
  • Hands‑on proficiency with HPLC.
  • Prior leadership experience, including training or mentoring.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting ability and a continuous‑improvement mindset.
  • Ability to design experiments, analyze data, maintain records, follow SOPs, and comply with company policies.
  • Ability to work independently and in a matrixed, cross‑functional team.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with in vitro or cellular assays.
  • Experience with biologics such as peptides or monoclonal antibodies.
  • Prior experience directly managing employees.
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. without restriction.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct analytical characterization of RNA‑LNP formulations using techniques such as HPLC, Solo‑VPE, MFI, AKTA, DLS, HI‑AC, and viscosity measurements.
  • Support formulation scientists in preparing proteins, buffers, and nanoparticle systems.
  • Follow GLP standards and maintain accurate, complete, and timely documentation in an electronic lab notebook.
  • Contribute to maintaining a clean, organized, and compliant laboratory environment.
  • Support research experiments through execution of protocols, methods, and company procedures.
  • Monitor, support, and develop a team of laboratory employees.
  • Assist in interviewing and onboarding new team members.
  • Provide routine coaching, performance feedback, and skill development.
  • Share administrative updates and reinforce company values and vision.
  • Ensure productivity, quality, and coverage across laboratory shifts and workloads.
  • Balance hands‑on laboratory activity with team leadership and oversight.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and high‑morale team environment.
