About The Position

This position is responsible for manually and mechanically cleaning equipment on the Soft Line while adhering to safety and quality standards. The role involves scraping, chiseling, and brushing equipment to remove material, as well as sweeping and vacuuming powder material from equipment and floors. The operator will maintain a strong understanding of the mechanical operation of the Soft Line and will be trained on equipment operation. This role also includes handling chemicals and performing Lockout Tagout procedures, while ensuring the work area is kept clean and orderly and all job duties are performed safely according to Utility Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Additional duties may be assigned by management.

Requirements

Ability to become certified in forklift and overhead crane operation
Ability to become certified in Lockout Tagout
Ability to become certified in Chemical Handling
Basic computer skills
High School Diploma or GED
Industrial work experience
Basic computer skills

Nice To Haves

Critical thinking and troubleshooting skills
Mechanically inclined
Ability to read and write in English to complete required documentation

Responsibilities

Scrape, chisel and brush all contact surfaces on Soft Line equipment to remove material
Sweep, vacuum and remove all powder material from equipment, floors, pipes, etc.
Maintain a strong understanding of the mechanical operation of the Soft Line
Ability to be trained on equipment operation of the Soft Line (Production Operator)
Perform Lockout Tagout
Handle chemicals
Keep work area clean and orderly
Perform job duties safely as outlined in the Utility Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Additional duties as assigned by management
