Come join our team! Due to the nature of our business and a heavy industrial market, Bodycote deems this position to be safety-sensitive. Based in Santa Fe Springs, CA the Foreman will perform essential job functions associated with heat treatment under the direction of the Plant Manager to meet customer specifications including assisting other employees as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1 yr minimum forklift experience
  • 1 yr minimum experience with cranes/hoists
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints
  • Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Must be able to work overtime or any shift, including weekends as needed.
  • Must be able to wear protective safety equipment as required (metatarsal steel toe shoes, safety glasses, etc).
  • Must have some knowledge of heat treating, testing, commercial/aircraft/aerospace materials.
  • Must have basic math skills and mechanical aptitude.
  • Must have the basic ability to read taper gauges, thickness gauges, and calipers.
  • Must be able to work in a standing position for extended periods of time
  • Manual dexterity to perform data entry functions.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain forklift operator certification.
  • Ability to bend, pull, stoop, climb, twist, and reach to perform functions.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
  • Must have the cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions.
  • Ability to hear in person and via phone.
  • Candidates must pass a pre-employment drug screen and basic physical; have the ability to work full-time, 40+ hours per week.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to handle hot parts up to 1600°F while performing forming operations.
  • Checks and records straightness, flatness, angles or dimensional records as required by work orders.
  • Performs routine mechanical forming with hydraulic presses and tooling- prepares material for operation.
  • Promotes safety and good housekeeping practices.
  • Must work in a manner consistent with the EMS.
  • This position is responsible for the care and treatment of our customer’s inventory and as such will perform duties in a safe and responsible manner to prevent customer loss or damage.
  • Must have the ability to report for work on time, follow directions, interact effectively with co-workers, understand and follow rules and procedures and accept constructive criticism.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned or dictated by position.
