About The Position

The Heavy Equipment Foreman will oversee and manage civil equipment crews. This position will be responsible for a crew of up to 5-15 craft workers. The crew will be a mix of journeyman, helpers, and laborers.

Requirements

• Must have 4+ years’ experience as a dirt operator, and 2+ years in a supervisory position.
• Must possess all Knowledge Skills and Abilities for positions (see below).
• Must be able to meet all physical requirements.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Leadership Abilities
• Ability to manage multiple crews.
• Ability to plan out the workload for multiple crews and multiple processes.
• Ability to perform all job duties of craft trade.
• Ability to read and understand IFC drawings.
• Understand when to stop production work and when an RFI needs to be initiated.
• Read and understand craft specs and cut sheets, craft spec procedures, and recommendations
• Equipment Knowledge

• Current Zachry/JV employee
• Zachry/JV ROF’ed employee.
• Former experience working with Zachry Industrial/JVIC.
• Experience working industrial construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and specification to determine the scope of work: locations, quantities, and sizes of materials required.
• Identify all tools required for tasks.
• Identify safety risks and the precautions required to eliminate those risks.
• Manage multiple crews in regards to scheduling, processes and sequences, time, and cost.
• Illustrate in-depth knowledge of all civil processes.
• Plan work and execute: Ability to take drawings, required material, line out helpers and execute work.
• Basic maintenance (inspections) and Safe operations practices.
• Ability to find footage, utilize addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions to perform all craft duties.
