About The Position

The Form Fabrication Specialist is responsible for reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, specifications, and work orders to fabricate, assemble, and install forms, molds, and templates according to project requirements. This role involves measuring, cutting, shaping, and fitting wood and composite materials with precision, as well as operating hand tools, power tools, and a straight mast forklift safely and efficiently. The specialist will also be responsible for material handling, layout work, quality inspection, repair, maintenance, and potentially mentoring junior fabricators. Coordination with supervisors and production teams is essential to meet project schedules and deadlines, while strictly adhering to all company safety policies and OSHA regulations. Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment, tracking materials, and documenting completed work are also key aspects of the position. The role may also involve assisting with loading/unloading, troubleshooting fabrication issues, and performing routine maintenance on tools and equipment.

Ability to ascend and descend stairs, ladders, scaffolding, and other elevated work surfaces while maintaining safety requirements.
Ability to frequently handle, operate, and use hand tools, power tools, equipment, instruments, and materials associated with assigned job duties.
Ability to frequently move, transport, position, push, pull, lift, or carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without assistance or mechanical devices where available.
Ability to frequently communicate and exchange information with crew members, supervisors, clients, subcontractors, vendors, and others in field and office settings.

Responsibilities

Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and work orders.
Fabricate, assemble, and install forms, molds, and templates according to project requirements.
Measure, cut, shape, and fit wood and composite materials with precision.
Operate hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently.
Operate a straight mast forklift to transport materials, forms, and components throughout the work area.
Load, unload, and stage materials while adhering to safety procedures and equipment operating guidelines.
Perform layout work and verify dimensions to ensure accuracy and compliance with specifications.
Inspect completed forms and fabricated components for quality, fit, and structural integrity.
Repair, modify, and maintain forms, molds, and templates as needed.
Mentor and train junior fabricators as needed, providing guidance on fabrication techniques, safety procedures, and quality standards.
Coordinate with supervisors and production teams to meet project schedules and deadlines.
Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Track materials used and document completed work as required.
Assist with loading, unloading, and transporting fabricated forms and materials.
Troubleshoot fabrication issues and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and quality.
Perform routine maintenance and inspections on tools and equipment used in fabrication processes.
