About The Position

This position is responsible for the loading and unloading of products from Production, following all procedures and SOPs. The role requires awareness of hazardous materials, emergency procedures, and environmental incidents. The employee will work to prevent safety incidents, minimize waste, and prevent product mix-ups. Responsibilities include proper tagging and placement of product, stretch wrapping and stacking products correctly and without damage, and performing duties efficiently without damaging company equipment. Housekeeping and maintaining a clean work area are also key aspects of this role. The position requires good communication skills, teamwork, and the ability to follow instructions and constructive feedback.

Requirements

Reading and writing skills normally acquired through a high school education.
Previous Forklift Certification.
Understand the principle of teamwork, and the capability of meeting those needs.
Attention to detail is a critical factor in successful performance of this job.
Understanding and general knowledge of the production process.
Certification to operate mobile equipment.
The certification process requires passing a physical, drug screen, and forklift training class.
Employee to be trained in the use of walk behind type lifts.
Must pass both a written and driving test.
Helps provide a safe work place by assisting in developing, promoting and following practices which prevent injury and meet legal safety requirements.

Responsibilities

Follow all procedures and SOP’s concerning the loading and unloading of products from Production.
Be aware of hazardous materials in your area.
Be aware and understand emergency procedures.
Report all spills or other environmental incidents.
Work in such a manner as to prevent safety incidents and if asked, participate in investigations of safety incidents.
Responsible for minimizing waste and preventing product mix ups.
Follow all procedures concerning the tagging and placement of product.
Stretch Wrap and stack all products in the warehouse in the correct manner and without damage.
Perform duties in an efficient manner without damage to company equipment and furnishings.
Housekeeping- Keep work area clean.
Follow instructions and receive constructive feedback.
Use spare time constructively.
Communicate with supervisor and co-workers.
Stay in assigned area.
Return from breaks on time.
Promote teamwork.
Follow all food safety guidelines while on the manufacturing floor.
Report any deviation from food safety protocol to the functional responsible personnel.
