About The Position

As an Equipment Operator Trainer, you will drive training programs, ensuring new hires and equipment operators are well-trained and compliant with safety and operational standards. You’ll operate various powered equipment, use the Warehouse Management System for transactions, and maintain accurate training records. Additionally, you’ll support the review and enhancement of SOPs, facilitate training sessions, and support the operation as required. This role supports our operations, Wednesday - Sunday, 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s or associate’s degree preferred.
  • 2+ years’ experience in a distribution center environment.
  • 1+ year of dedicated experience with Training.
  • Familiarity with a Warehouse Management System (WMS) required.
  • Proven ability to successfully facilitate training in various group sizes
  • Certified operator of a Walkie Rider, Pallet Riders, Hand Truck, Fork Lift, Turret Truck.
  • Able to use power equipment with a maximum height of 40 ft.
  • Good communication, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Dependable and reliable, with a proven track record of reliable attendance and performance in a warehouse environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, Standard Operating Procedures, and operating instructions.
  • Inventory, equipment maintenance, data entry, and computer skills may be required.

Nice To Haves

  • 3-5 years of previous warehouse experience preferred.
  • Certification from Toyota to become a certified trainer, or the ability to obtain this certification within the first 30 days of acceptance of this position (provided by the company)

Responsibilities

  • Own the mechanics of the STEP iT UP training program for new hires.
  • Own all Training-related reporting, updates to the Learning Management System (LMS), and assist with SOP compliance.
  • Responsible for all new equipment operators on the shift, providing these Associates with the Knowledge, Context, Information, and Training to perform job functions.
  • Safely and efficiently operate powered equipment on the warehouse floor, including but not limited to Walkie Riders, Forklifts, Turret Trucks, and Order Pickers.
  • Effectively use the Warehouse Management System (Manhattan) to complete system transactions to ensure product is properly accounted for.
  • Prepare and complete orders for receipt, delivery, or pickup according to schedule.
  • Maintain quality service by accurately and diligently following set processes and company standards.
  • Support the review and enhancement of our SOP architecture and training documentation, checklists, and quick reference guides.
  • Work with the Training Lead to monitor individual Department performance to ensure training/cross-training is proactive and operational standards are met.
  • Work with HR to facilitate various training sessions that occur in the building, including New Hire Orientation, RF101, Safety Training, and Powered Equipment.
  • Review training processes and perform audits to ensure processes are being followed.
  • Utilize our Learning Management System (LMS) to store department-specific SOPs/Videos.
  • Maintain accurate records of training sessions and employee progress.
  • Monitor trainee performance to ensure that training is proactive and that operational standards are being met.
  • Ensure the proper handoff is given to the following shift.
  • Inspect machinery at the beginning and end of each shift to identify damages or issues that need to be escalated or reported.
  • Comply with all company policies and guidelines regarding safety and operations.
  • Shift to various departments / shifts to support peak operations and perform other duties in the warehouse as required.
