About The Position

The Forklift Technician is responsible for troubleshooting and repairing all Powered Industrial Equipment under time constraints, following work orders to achieve productivity, and developing a knowledge base of different systems within the Distribution Center. This role involves initiating and implementing new procedures and creating designs to keep present equipment/systems operating at 100% efficiency. Effective communication is key to minimizing potential downtime of equipment, and ensuring workmanship is of the highest quality. The technician will also complete daily P.I.T. checklists, operate P.I.T. equipment safely, and follow set safety procedures and guidelines. Maintaining an organized work area and promoting a safe working environment within the Maintenance department, along with adherence to all Company policies and procedures, are also essential functions of this role. All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

High School preferred.
Two plus years of industrial maintenance experience on forklifts or related equipment (verifiable) or one of the following equivalents: 1 year industrial maintenance experience and have certificates of completion for formal schooling in hydraulics, electricity or electronics.
Forklift Technician III must be proficient in three of the following seven categories: (1) Electronic/Electrical, (2) Battery Equipment, (3) Other Equipment (scrubber, boomlift, etc.), (4), Machining/Lathe/Mill, (5) MHE Mechanical Systems, (6) Welding and (7) Hydraulics.
Must have own set of basic hand tools.
Able to perform essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Frequently lift up to 70 pounds.
Adequate fitness level to meet the demands of frequent lifting, walking, standing, moderate climbing, occasional sitting, stooping and kneeling with or without reasonable accommodation.
Team Member will operate P.I.T. equipment.
Team Member will be required to use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) per Distribution Center requirements.
Must be able to effectively communicate with co-workers and management team.
Has the necessary hand and motor skills needed to perform essential work activities.

Maintains an organized work area and promotes a safe working environment with the Maintenance department.
Follows all Company policies and procedures.
