About The Position

Wiese is seeking a Field Service Technician to travel to customer locations and repair their material handling equipment. This role involves repairing a wide range of equipment including forklifts, aerial lifts, utility vehicles, and floor care equipment within a specific coverage area. The technician will perform preventative maintenance and repair work on customer fleets, acting as the primary point of contact and representing the company professionally. The position requires managing the job as a small business, being dispatched from home using a company van, and coordinating/reporting via a laptop.

Requirements

  • Strong multitasking and time management skills.
  • Able to prioritize your day and self-manage.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and crouch/crawl in confined areas.
  • Comfortable with heights above 15 feet.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Provide your own hand tools.
  • Working knowledge of computer systems and able to quickly learn our software to complete online work orders.
  • Demonstrable customer service skills, both verbal and non-verbal.
  • Pre-employment drug screen, physical exam, comprehensive background record check, MVR (motor vehicle record) check, and proof of employment eligibility (E-Verify) are required.

Responsibilities

  • Actively support, promote and lead safety initiatives.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures.
  • Work safe at all times and report any unsafe work or work environments to management.
  • Troubleshoot customer equipment problems and confer with and get approval from customer before making repairs.
  • Maintain your own parts inventory based on the parts you carry in your van.
  • Complete and submit all required paperwork.
  • Provide the best possible customer service, including offering additional Wiese services, added-value items and equipment based on potential customer needs.
  • Manage your workload effectively.
  • Perform hazard assessments and maintain a high standard of safe work practices and quality control.
