Forklift/Order Picker
About The Position
Johnson Controls is seeking an Order Picker, also known as a Picker Packer, to join their team. This role is responsible for reading incoming orders, selecting correct items from warehouse shelves, and staging them for delivery. The position involves operating forklifts and other heavy machinery, updating inventory counts, and fulfilling orders. Requirements
- Ability to read and write in the English language
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Forklift Certified (Minimum 1 year)
- Prior experience with standard sit-down, stand up Forklift
- Prior experience using a cherry-picker forklift
- Must have good attention to detail and organizational skills
Nice To Haves
- Experience with ERP systems (JD Edwards)
- Experience/Knowledge of inventory management
Responsibilities
- Follow safety guidelines and protocols to maintain a safe work environment.
- Collect order notes to fulfill deliveries.
- Pick out ordered items from storage shelves or rooms using barcodes, serial numbers, etc.
- Securely shrink-wrap items before placing them in envelopes or boxes.
- Operate handling equipment according to industrial safety regulations.
- Load items into delivery vehicles.
- Update stock inventory after each item is retrieved.
- Manage stock control including item replenishment and storage.
- Perform other general warehouse duties as necessary.
- Actively participate in all high-performance team activities.
