About The Position
The Forklift Operator position at Clinton ACE Home Center is a full-time role responsible for the efficient and safe operation of forklifts to manage inventory and assist with customer needs. This role involves loading, unloading, stocking, and staging products, as well as preparing items for shipment. The operator will also be responsible for daily vehicle inspections, maintaining equipment, and assisting with freight and deliveries. Additionally, the position may involve customer assistance and helping with specific merchandise like glass and plexiglass.
Requirements
- H.S. Diploma or G.E.D. is preferred
- Valid driver's license
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Ability to work flexible hours; including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Forklift certified is preferred
- Knowledge of building materials
- Good physical condition for lifting
- Safety conscious
Responsibilities
- Load, unload, move, stock, and stage products and materials using forklifts
- Pull and prepare product for shipment, verifying the correct number and type of product
- Perform daily truck and forklift inspections
- Keep truck and forklift maintained
- Work with delivery dates, order fulfillments, and receiving
- Assist checking in freight and trucks
- Unload freight and trucks
- Keep yard and warehouse stocked and cleaned
- Help with deliveries to job sites
- Communicate with call outs and delivery schedules
- Assist customers in selecting and loading merchandise
- Help with glass and plexiglass, where applicable
