About The Position

Ryder is hiring a permanent, full-time Warehouse Material Handler in Aberdeen, Maryland. The role handles appliances in a warehouse environment and involves operating powered industrial equipment and other warehouse machinery. Employees work with warehouse management system instructions, fulfill and stage orders, prepare logistics documentation, and follow safety and security procedures. The position pays $19.67 per hour, with weekly pay, and includes paid on-the-job training. Safety gear and state-of-the-art equipment are provided.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• At least two years of related warehouse and powered industrial lift experience required.
• Ability to read, perform basic mathematics, and understand and respond to written and verbal instructions in English for safety, work instructions, and policies.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
• Ability to input data into a computer system.
• Ability to work overtime as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Read, interpret, and apply Warehouse Management System (WMS) order instructions.
• Recognize and correct potential process errors before they adversely affect the customer.
• Identify damaged product during the warehousing process and take appropriate action.
• Pull orders accurately as assigned.
• Stage orders according to carrier location and verify the number of pallets picked and their staging location.
• Prepare receiving, storage, and shipping documentation while retaining product accountability throughout the logistical process.
• Follow location and work-center safety and security policies and procedures.
• Train others in warehouse functions, including safe operation of powered industrial lift equipment, when required.
• Perform housekeeping and other assigned duties.
• Operate forklift equipment or other warehouse machinery.
