Forklift Operator - 1st Shift
About The Position
This is an entry-level position in the PRODUCTION SUPPORT CAREER STREAM, providing support in manufacturing operations and/or distribution centers. The role involves assembly, machinery, processing, packaging, and/or distribution of company products. The Forklift Operator transports merchandise using a forklift truck to designated locations within the warehouse, operating gas or electric powered forklift trucks to move, store, stack, load, or unload trucks, products, materials, parts, and finished goods. They also stock and retrieve merchandise using high lift materials handling equipment. This role may involve complex equipment operation or delicate loads, and requires the ability to operate a Turret and reach truck. The position involves performing basic activities and recording data in manufacturing/production operations or distribution centers, following defined standard outputs or procedures. Problems encountered are typically routine with prescribed solutions. Communication is primarily within the immediate job area, exchanging information that requires little explanation. This role is focused on self-development and requires little to no prior experience in manufacturing or supply chain operations, with job skills acquired through work instructions.
Requirements
- Requires little or no prior knowledge of manufacturing or supply chain operational procedures, systems and tools.
- Job skills and knowledge of policies, procedures and systems are acquired and applied to clearly defined work instruction.
- 0 years of experience required.
- No minimum education requirement.
- Possess unrestricted U.S. work authorization at the time of hire and for the duration of employment (for roles below Principal level).

Responsibilities
- Transports merchandise using a forklift truck to designated locations within the warehouse.
- Operates gas or electric powered forklift truck to move, store, stack, load or unload trucks, products, materials, parts, finished goods, etc.
- Stocks and retrieves merchandise stored using high lift materials handling equipment to lift, carry, move, and position palletized merchandise or materials.
- May handle complex equipment operation or delicate loads.
- Must be able to operate a Turret and reach truck.
- May set up and operate automatic or semiautomatic machines and related equipment in a continuous production/processing operation.
- Reports any malfunctions or abnormalities in machines.
- May be involved in shipping, receiving, inventory control, or storage of products in distribution centers.
- Performs basic activities and records data in manufacturing/production operations or distribution center.
- Delivers job responsibilities following a defined standard output or set of procedures.
