About The Position

The Forklift Operator moves materials and products around the work area, including loading and unloading materials and moving materials and pallets into the work area. The role also supports basic machine maintenance, workplace cleanliness and organization, safety compliance, and documentation of machine data, malfunctions, and maintenance activities. The operator collaborates with team members and communicates with supervisors, while participating in training and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Mechanical aptitude, including understanding basic mechanical concepts and troubleshooting basic machinery issues.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in tasks.
• Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, perform repetitive tasks, and lift materials.
• Problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues quickly and efficiently.
• Teamwork and communication skills to work effectively with others and communicate clearly.
• Safety awareness and adherence to safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload materials.
• Move materials and pallets into the work area and move materials and products around the work area using equipment such as forklifts or hand trucks.
• Help keep all work areas clean and organized.
• Assist with basic machine maintenance, including cleaning and lubrication, and maintain a maintenance log.
• Follow safety procedures and protocols to maintain a safe work environment.
• Record machine data, malfunctions, and maintenance activities.
• Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively with supervisors.
• Participate in training and continuous improvement initiatives.
